ABOUT / COMMON GROUND

Notes for the space between.

Common Ground is a small editorial journal about public spaces and the materials that give them a civic character.

We look at the ordinary parts of a place: the edge of a square, the route beside a building, the wall that catches a hand, the paving that changes the speed of a walk. These details are not background. They are how a shared place becomes usable.

The journal works from public guidance, archival records, and close reading. It does not offer travel advice or pretend to be a local office. Each essay stays with a design question long enough for its consequences to show.
